National Institutes of Health researchers examined the association between folate consumption and heart attack risk. They examined data from many research encompassing over one hundred thousand women. All of these ladies had received a breast cancer diagnosis. Some had taken folic acid supplements. Others had not done so.Women who took folic acid supplements were less likely to have a heart attack than those who did not.
